Snoopy 1,480 / 15,610 Report Post Posted March 12, 2017 Hi guys. This is going to be a first in a series of bi-monthly reports on how each of our divisions are doing, as well as future plans and major changes. This is part of an attempt to let our community members know what is happening behind the scenes and giving you guys a little extra knowledge on how GFL works. This is also your chance to ask us any suitable questions about the staff team or our divisions and hopefully as many of them will be answered as possible. The Staff Team The staff team have been very hard at working trying to improve GFL's back end in an attempt to improve the community. The recent additions of four new CAs has been a great start and has helped to bolster our team further. Our CA team are very dedicated in what they do and soon they'll be moving out into the public of GFL as their job role changes slightly. As of today, all of our CAs have been assigned specific job roles to help bolster many aspects of GFL. Although many of them are to do with the higher-ups, everyone else will see the effects of what they are doing fairly soon. As of today, all CAs will be assisting in the training of division staff and will be offering their advice and relaying ideas to their assigned DL to help out and spot faults with ideas. Not only will the CAs be taking a bigger role within the divisions but they also have extra separate roles that they are going to take over and work with. There are four other roles that certain CAs have taken over as well. Event Organisation @RickGrimesTM @qDogg Both Rick and qDogg will be dealing with creating events for GFL. This includes creating weekly/monthly events for GFL game servers, creating large monthly/bi-monthly tournaments for everyone in GFL to participate in (like my OW tournament and qDogg's Rocket League tournament) and then organising tournaments and events between other communities. This'll bring in some extra entertainment and something more exciting for our servers and GFL as a whole. Team Overseer @RickGrimesTM @Rcool64 Rick and Rcool will be overseeing all of our "teams". This includes our eSports team and our Creative Team. These two will be working closely with both of these teams to provide feedback and act as a liaison between the teams and the higher ups. PR Assistants @PB-n-J @Skittlez PB and Skittlez will be helping out with a lot of the forum work that is needed to be done ranging from announcements to posts that require peoples attention. They will also help maintain our Steam group. Counter-Strike: Source After the attack on GFL last year, our CS:S servers were hit the hardest. We had several servers that were flourishing with decent population over several game modes until the majority of them were stolen from us. Most of you know what happened so I'm not going to recap it in here as there are announcement threads about it, so please don't ask. Our division leaders have been fighting with our CS:S servers for quite some time now to try and bring it back up to scratch. This is certainly not an easy thing to do as CS:S is a dying game and has almost been replaced with CS:GO completely. Our division leaders have some rather big plans in store for CS:S. With potential new servers coming forth fairly soon, we could possibly see a revival of our CS:S servers. There are plans in place to look at the division and help bolster what servers we have left so things are looking bright for our CS:S division, provided things take off. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive With the addition of our 2 new division leaders for CS:GO we've seen some big improvements within the division. Both of the new DLs have settled in quite well and have been welcomed by the rest of the division, so we have very high hopes that we'll see some good things in the future. CS:GO is the largest division we have, sporting eighteen servers each with their own server manager and admin team. In light of the division leader promotions, we've also seen a multitude of admins making their way into higher positions. We've had seven promotions to fill the gaps. @xSnowyAngel has been entrusted with not only GFL's best server, but the best server in CS:GO: Zombie Escape. Snowy was promoted to fill the gap as @Deltacommander was promoted to division leader. @Leks has recently taken over @HackingPotato's old Jailbreak server since she was promoted to division leader. Both @SwegBuster and @GamerOwns have been given the Zombie Mod servers. @PaxPlay was promoted and given access to both of our BHop servers. @CrusTi has taken over both of our 1v1 servers. @Zynth has been put in charge of our Surf servers. And last but not least, @Johaw has been promoted and given the management responsibilities over the Surf RPG servers. As you can see, this is a rather big restructure that filled in many of the gaps we had left open. Each of these new managers have quite a fair bit to do on their servers and hopefully in the near future we'll see each of these servers at their peak. Not only have we had some fairly big rank changes, but there are some fairly big changes upcoming to the division involving the addition of an exciting new server. An overhaul to a few servers has also been in the works for some time now. We can expect to see these fairly soon, so keep your eyes peeled in the future. Garry's Mod Our GMod servers are doing fairly well, but there's always room for improvement. If we take a look at some of our most popular servers, we can see that we've got a stable population that hopefully won't go away any time soon. We currently have four servers in the top five hundred, which is great, but hopefully we can see these servers being moved up the ranks as we won't settle for anything but the best. In the recent months we've had two servers pop up in the form of Jailbreak and Breach. @RickGrimesTM has been assigned the Jailbreak server, but no one has been given control over Breach and thus it has been left down to the division leaders. Both of these servers started off quite well, although they've both taken a fairly big nose dive in terms of population. Hopefully the staff team can look at what happened to the servers and find out what went wrong to prevent that from happening in the future. Team Fortress 2 Team Fortress 2 has been a very sore and tough topic to talk about. Two years ago, we were flourishing and all of our servers had great population. The majority of our servers were full and we had a very strong team to keep our servers running. Looking to what we have today, our team was still strong but Valve has pretty much destroyed community servers with their updates that focus primarily around getting people to move to their own Valve servers. We struggled, but we barely made it through. Then Valve released the "Meet Your Match" update. This completely killed of what little population we had left on our servers. At this point, we have no population and we haven't had any population for quite some time. With that being said, we are removing the TF2 division from GFL as it holds no benefit to us anymore. We have no population, no income from these servers and our staff team seem to have lost all interest in the division, so it's only fitting that we go ahead with this. If anyone has any questions about this then please ask away. So everyone is listing their former stuff so I'll just be cool and list mine :3 Former @HackingPotato's White Knight and Boss Former Director Former TF2 Division Leader Former Community Advisor Former TF2 Technical Administrator Former TF2 Server Manager Former TF2 Trial Manager Former TF2 Admin Former TF2 Revivalist Former TF2 Player Former TF2 God Former Media Leaderish Former somewhat Media team person Former VIP Former Supporter Former Member Former TF2 Player Former Player
Leks 2,304 / 26,632 Report Post Posted March 12, 2017 I see my name, I like. Overall this seems like a great idea and I completely support this. Since my promotion I have been working on quite a few projects which will benefit Jailbreak in general!
